The IM Women team travelled to Marawi City to consult with the local government officials and residents for the development of the project program of activities and training modules. During the trip, partners represented by Ambassador Bita Rasoulian, Ronna Sieh of Spark, Asec. Marjorie Jalosjos of DILG and IM Women Spokesperson Iza Calzado met with Mayor Majul Gandamra of Marawi City, Mayor Macmod Muti of Saguiran and the refugees at Saguiran Evacuation Camp.

Upon meeting the women at the evacuation camp, the IM Women team was moved by the refugees’ stories of resilience and perseverance. Their experiences, in addition to Mayor Gandamra and Mayor Muti’s recommendations, helped the team streamline its program for a more inclusive and sustainable outcome.

The IM Women team took this opportunity to thank both Mayor Gandamra and Mayor Muti in person for welcoming them and for ensuring the safety and success of the trip. Mayor Gandamra and Mayor Muti expressed their gratitude for IM Women’s efforts to help with the rehabilitation of Marawi and were supportive of the program’s focus on the internally displaced women.
