Girl Rising Caravan visits St. La Salle – Bacolod

The University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City played host to the the Girl Rising Caravan in Region 6 last March 13, 2014. The event was co-presented by the USLS Office of Student Affairs headed by OIC Director Minnie Montano and USLS Balayan Community Extension Office headed by Director Minmin Ponteras. Over students  300 students from USLS with guests from Riverside College, Inc. attended the forum which featured a special screening of the acclaimed film, Girl Rising, and a launch of the Spark a Change project. The latter gives Microgrants for Grassroot Initiatives and Community Organizing  where young people propose and implement a project to improve their communities and to highlight innovation for more gender-responsive neighbourhoods.
