Emerging Leaders Assembly – Cebu Province
On August 6, 2014, inspiring leaders from different universities in Cebu converged to discuss pertinent issues and possible solutions in the region. Below is an account from one of the participants, Chatch Calderon of UP Cebu. SPARK! encourages and supports meetings like these among youth in the regions where you can discuss and debate pertinent issues in the country and propose solutions together. If you wish to organise one, let us know at sparkphilippines2013@gmail.com – ED. —————————————————-
In this generation where the youth is told to be apathetic, there is a need for someone to step up and make a change.
The Emerging Young Leaders’ Assembly organized by SPARK Philippines Incorporated became an avenue for student leaders from different universities in Cebu City to meet and discuss different issues that affect the youth.
The assembly led to a discourse on ideas on various issues that we are encountering. Meetings such as these are important in assuring participation among the students. It is an avenue to share ideas and insights as to addressing the issues that is similar among the different schools. Most of all, it is one way of uniting the youth. It is in unity that we could create one solution that would address our concerns as the youth sector.
We are the future of our country. Let us not be passive in issues that concerns the youth. Let us be the change that we want our nation to be.
