TED Talk: Sheryl Sandberg – Why we have too few women leaders?

In 2010, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg looks at why a smaller percentage of women than men reach the top of their professions.

In her book, she calls for women to ‘lean in’ which means give it your all, “lean in” and “don’t leave before you leave” — which is to say, don’t doubt your ability to combine work and family. Women can have it all: women can juggle work and family, succeed professionally, and strategically position herself to ask for what she needs and to make changes that could benefit others.

Yet a recent Google search shows just how much prejudice and discrimination towards women and gender equality persist. “The Autocomplete Truth” builds on the international viral success of the print and web advertising campaign from UN Women, developed by Memac Ogilvy & Mather Dubai that first revealed the depth of that discrimination. The video argues that at this point in history, popular perception should be different and women should be seen as equal. – See more at: http://www.unwomen.org/#sthash.7lfGc7fM.dpuf

For 2014, let us continue to work together, believe in each other, break barriers and change the world as it should be – a world in harmony where everyone’s rights are respected and where equality finally reigns.
